of Maalaea harbor are the beautiful beaches of Kihei,

 Maalaea
Beach -
Next to Island Sands Resort
Located at the North end of a 5-mile stretch of Sugar Beach.
Between the two mountains that form Maui. Favorite activities
include walking, surfing and whale watching right from the
shoreline!

Sugar
Beach
Sugar Beach gets it's name from the sugary consistency of
it's fine, white sand. Miles of excellent sandy beach to swim
and snorkel. This is a popular location for walking the beach.
Enjoy a long romantic walk from north Kihei to Maalaea on
one of Maui's most beautiful stretches of oceanfront. Whale
watch as you enjoy the magnificent views.

Cove
Park - Located
at the South end of Kalama Park, Cove Park does not have much
sandy beach, but it does offer a great place for novices to
take surfing lessons. "The Cove" has generally small
waves at the shore making it suitable for swimmers with at least
some experience. The offshore reef may be sharp and dangerous
and should be approached with care. The beach provides parking
and a boat ramp, and is also used by a canoe club. Popular surfers
beach, many beginners. |

Charlie
Young Beach
Located on the North end of Kamaole
Beach I. This large sandy beach is great for sunbathing,
swimming and families. Small waves make this location suitable
for swimmers with at least some experience. Kamaole Park on
the South end provides bathroom facilities and parking and
has a central lifeguard tower.

Kamaole
Beach Park
All
three beaches Kamaole I, II, II offer excellent swimming,
snorkeling, kayaking, sunbathing, and volleyball. All have
lifeguards, restrooms and showers.
Location: Off South Kihei Road, at the southern end of Kihei.

Kama'ole
I - Located South of Charlie Young Beach Kamaole I boasts
a large sandy beach ideal for walking, swimming and laying
out. Great for families. The park provides parking, bathroom
facilities, and a lifeguard tower.

Kama'ole
II - Kama’ole 2 is located north of Kihei Boat Ramp. This
beach has generally small waves that surge of the moderate-gradient
swash zone, making this location suitable for swimmers with
at least some experience. Larger waves produce a heavy shore
break and rip current against the rocks, causing swimming
to be dangerous. There is a lifeguard tower in the South.

Kama'ole
III - Kama’ole 3 is located north of the Kihei Boat Ramp
(Kamala Park). Waves are generally small at the shore making
this location suitable for swimmers with at least some experience.
Larger waves produce a heavy shore break and rip current in
the south, causing swimming to be dangerous. Low rock ridges
cross the far north and far south sections of the beach. The
rock ridges and bordering basalt rocks may be sharp, slippery,
and dangerous and should be approached with caution. The park
provides parking, bathroom facilities, and a lifeguard tower. |

Makena
Beach (Big Beach & Little Beach)
A breathtaking white sand beach divided into big and little
beach by Pu'u Olai, a 360 foot cylinder cone. Surf can be
dangerous during the summer months, but snorkeling can be
excellent with visibility at times over 100 feet in the water.
Location: Piilani Highway south past Kihei, south past Wailea.

Ulua
Beach
A great place to catch Maui's spectacular sunsets. Swimming,
snorkeling and diving are also excellent. South Kihei Road
to Alanui Road, about one mile south of Wailea.
